Liturgy of the Word for Children

“Children’s Church”
After the opening prayers, and before the readings begin, we dismiss our little ones to a separate worship space (Moore Hall) where they can hear and ponder on the Word of God to their own understandings. Adult leaders proclaim God’s Word in language suitable to children (from the Lectionary for Masses with Children). They are the same readings the adults hear each week, just some of the words are changed with regard to age-appropriate understandings.
We are constantly seeking adults who are interested in bringing God’s Word to these young people. If you are interested, please contact the church office. We will provide training and materials.
“A fully Christian life cannot be conceived without participation in the liturgical services in which the faithful, gathered into a single assembly, celebrate the paschal mystery. Children are (to be) prepared for Eucharistic Communion and introduced more deeply into its meaning.”
